Our Story

EpiSoft began in 2005 with a clear but challenging goal.

Our founders, Jenny O’Neill and Michael Hurse, identified a significant gap between life-changing clinical research and the daily reality of patient care.

Working out of a Sydney eHealth incubator, they realised that while medical science was advancing rapidly, the digital tools used to manage complex diseases were falling behind.

We were fortunate to find early partners who shared this vision. Our first major milestone was a pilot at largest private hospital in our home state of New South Wales, Australia, where we worked alongside clinicians to refine our approach.

This experience taught us that our success would never be a solo achievement. It would always depend on the trust and feedback of the people on the front lines.

Today, we remain humble stewards of a platform that has been built, tested and improved by the healthcare community over two decades.

Our Values

Evidence in Practice
We believe that software should be a bridge between medical science and the bedside. This value is grounded in our founders’ backgrounds in epidemiology and our deep commitment to ensuring that best-practice is always at a clinician’s fingertips. We demonstrate this by focusing on clinical safety and data integrity as our highest priorities. By aligning our EpiSoft chronic disease platform with rigorous, peer-reviewed standards like eviQ, we ensure that the tools we provide are as dependable as the medicine they manage. For us, accurate data is not just a technical requirement: it is a prerequisite for better patient outcomes.
Leadership through Expertise
Our ability to innovate quickly is a direct result of our people. We operate with a flat, non-hierarchical structure that keeps our Australian-based experts close to the clinical problems they are solving. Because many of our team members have been with EpiSoft for over a decade, we carry a level of institutional knowledge that allows us to be both agile and highly productive. We have intentionally avoided the bureaucracy of larger organisations so that our developers and clinical experts remain directly accessible to our users. Our agility is not about being a small company: it is about having a dedicated team that is responsive, reliable and personally invested in our customers' success.
Solving Problems That Matter
We have deliberately chosen to focus our efforts on some of the world’s pressing healthcare problems because these are the areas where we can make the most meaningful difference. Chronic diseases like cancer represent the highest burden on our healthcare system and require the most complex coordination of care. Similarly, mental health services often struggle with fragmented data that can hinder patient journeys. By improving productivity in these high-pressure environments, we help return time to clinicians so they can focus on what matters most: their patients. We focus on these segments because they are the challenges worth solving for our families, our friends and our community.

A Quiet Commitment to the Future

As we look ahead, we remain acutely aware that the real heroes of this story are the doctors, nurses and administrative staff who use our tools to save and improve lives.

Our partnerships with leading healthcare organisations are a privilege that we need to continue to earn every day.

We are proud of our Australian roots and our long-serving team, but we are most proud of the enduring partnerships we have built with our customers.\

We remain committed to being the quiet, reliable engine behind the scenes, helping the healthcare community move forward with confidence and care.
